Department History
"The department was founded in 1967 under the name ""Political Economy"". In 1992, the name of the department was changed: ""Economic Theory"" and in 2021 - ""Economics"". In the 2012-2013 academic year, the department admitted students in the direction 5231600 - ""Labor Economics and Sociology"". In the 2023-2024 academic year, graduates of the last year of the part-time form of education in this direction completed their studies. Starting from the 2020-2021 academic year, the name and code of this direction were changed to 60411400 - ""Human Resource Management"". Also, starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, the department is preparing bachelors in the direction 60310100 - ""Economics"" in full-time and part-time forms of education. From the 2020-2021 academic year, graduate students were admitted to the 70411401 - ""Human Resource Management"" specialty, and from the 2024-2025 academic year, to the 70410102- ""Economics"" specialty. In the winter admission 2023-2024 academic year, 3 master's students graduated, currently 8 master's students are studying in 2 directions. In the department there is a basic doctoral course on the specialties 08.00.12-""Regional economy"" and 08.00.13-""Management"", in which a total of 11 basic doctoral students are studying in 3 courses. From 2023 to the present, the department is headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor A. O. Ochilov."
"The theme of the department's research direction: - ""Directions for developing the integration of higher education institutions with scientific production enterprises"". On May 2-3, 2025, the department held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic ""Green Energy and Economics"". Professors and teachers of foreign and domestic higher education institutions, specialists in the fields of economics, tourism and marketing, doctoral candidates and independent researchers, master's students and students participated in the conference with their scientific articles and lectures in full-time and part-time departments. In addition, the department currently has more than 600 scientific works by professors and teachers in international databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and in local and international journals recognized by the Academy of Sciences, as well as about 20 monographs, more than 10 textbooks, and about 20 training manuals."
